MTPA Learnership 2024:- The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) is offering a special opportunity for unemployed individuals in 2024. This program is called the MTPA Learnership 2024, which aims to provide learners with practical and theoretical knowledge in nature conservation.

MTPA Learnership 2024 is a twelve-month program for the Financial Year 2024/2025. It integrates practical and theoretical learning, providing structured work experience and learning with an accredited training provider. Upon completion, learners will receive a South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) accredited qualification.
Nature Conservation Learnership
This learnership focuses on nature conservation and offers X100 positions. Each learner will receive a monthly stipend of R3,500. Participants will be placed at various MTPA Nature Reserves across Mpumalanga.

- Songimvelo Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Barberton Nature Reserve – (05 Posts)
- Mahushe Shongwe Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Verloren Vallei Nature Reserve – (05 Posts)
- Nooitgedacht Dam Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Mkhombo Dam Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Mabusa Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Loskop Dam Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- SS Skhosana Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Sterkspruit Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)
- Ohrigstad Nature Reserve – (06 Posts)

Qualifying Criteria for MTPA Learnership 2024
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Unemployed South Africans aged between 18 and 35
- Must have Grade 12 qualification
- Attach Curriculum Vitae (CV) and ID copy
- Interest in outdoor work and practical tasks
- Valid proof of residence in Mpumalanga Province
- Not currently studying at any tertiary institution
- Not registered for any other learnerships
- People with disabilities are encouraged to apply
Key Responsibilities
Participants in the MTPA Learnership 2024 will be responsible for:
- Assisting in biodiversity conservation
- Monitoring and removing invasive vegetation
- Supporting tasks like fires, rehabilitation, infrastructure maintenance, and more
- Collecting data for conservation objectives
- Engaging with communities to promote environmental education and involvement
- Completing assignments and attending training sessions
